此曲美黑人村歌手Charley Pride於1969所推出的曲，也是他在美村榜第2首的冠曲。位Pride老兄原本想成一位棒球手，然也打，但一直在二，自己也知什前途，反而在歌唱部份有起色，也就「球歌」了。不要小看位老黑村歌手，自1966─87，共有52首入村榜前10名，其中40首冠曲。不，台我老黑唱村歌曲是感有些怪怪的。
翻唱此曲的知名歌手有「村音第一夫人」Tammy Wynette，Bobby bare & Skeeter Davis及Heidi Hauge等，以下的是Connie Smith的版本。Connie的嗓音也算是有些特殊，受到不少歌迷的喜。她唱村歌曲，感是了「流行」的味道。到Connie，很自然的想到她的招牌歌《Rose Garden》，以及她的第四段婚姻 ( 原本已不再婚的她，最後是嫁了小她17，在12就要娶她，後也成村歌手的Marty Stuart。)。
