此曲最早於1968由歌者之一的Norris Wilson以歌名《Hey Mister》唱行，位Norris老兄曾替多位知名的村歌手 ( 或合 ) 不少曲，而等到唱自己的歌，在排行榜成最好的一首---《Do It to Someone You Love》，也不才第20名。
1973，美村歌手Charlie Rich《Hey Mister》改唱《The Most Beautiful Girl》，成好的超乎想像，在告示牌的村、流行及易 ( Easy Listening ) 三排行榜均得冠，可得上是三冠王。Charlie Rich中年以後，可能是由於白，博得了「Silver Fox」的。此曲及同期的另首《Behind Closed Doors》，都是Charlie Rich知名的代表作。
