此首《The Chain》其是首「拼歌」，Fleetwood Mac各成之前所作、但未用的素材，由唱片公司的工程磁切接而成之 ( 歌是女主唱Stevie Nicks完成再其他修改 )，故此曲的著作版，登在全部5名之下。此曲收在1977的《Rumours》中，曲的成不差，得第30名。
Fleetwood Mac原英，1973於美巡演期，不下相致解散。1974，鼓手Mick Fleetwood招募美籍吉他手Lindsey Buckingham，但Buckingham的件是要他的女友Stevie Nicks一起加入，而成了後的5人。中不只Buckingham和Nicks是一情，士手John McVie手Christine McVie是夫妻。鼓手Mick FleetwoodJenny Boyd ( )在1970婚，在美巡演始多久，被Mick FleetwoodBoyd和吉他手Bob Weston有染，Bob因而被出。

:Jenny Boyd的姊姊Pattie Boyd是大大的有名，先是嫁了披合唱的George Harrison (1964)，被Harrison的好友Eric Clapton喜上了，得人皆知。在Harrison婚後(1977)，Pettie Boyd真的又嫁了Clapton (1979—88)。

1976，Fleetwood Mac，是感情的一年。Buckingham和Nicks的感情有了化，人分手，Buckingham因而出了非常棒的一首 《Go Your Own Way》作回。John McVie因酗酒，也在年了8年婚的老婆Christine，但人仍同事夥伴。鼓手Mick Fleetwood因老婆之前出，也在1976婚，不在同年又了回。令人的是，Stevie Nicks在分手Buckingham後，除了老合唱的鼓手Don Henley(1976—78)，期也和鼓手Fleetwood在一起(1977—78)，致Fleetwood再次Boyd婚，真是一大混。在各之的情之下所作的上述《Rumours》，成是出奇的好，得了告示牌排行榜的冠。
