此曲最初老合唱的士手Randy Meisner自所作，但一直未能完。由於正在《One of These Nights》，希望同此曲入，故由鼓手Don Henley及吉他手Glenn Frey共同助此曲完成。1975，首《Take It To The Limit》在美告示牌100排行榜到了第4名，同也打了英排行榜 ( # 12 )。的老合唱，是一首非常重要及成功的歌曲，
既然此曲Randy Meisner所主，由他任主唱自是合情理不了。但在1977老合唱展「Hotel California」的巡演，Randy Meisner由於胃疾及家庭有了些，表自己其不喜站在前排成聚光的焦等等 ( 有是「屁」，因後Meisner也搞「唱」事，不是要站前排？ )，希望Glenn Frey此曲演唱曲目中剔除，因而和Glenn Frey生了，人甚至在後台有肢突 ( 架啦！)。事件之後，Randy Meisner感在中受到冷漠待，於在1977年9月了老合唱。
其，Randy Meisner的，或是忍受不了Glenn Frey以「老大」自居的作，平平都是，而且Meisner之前是Poco的，Poco的前身又是Buffalo Springfield，望都超的Frey多多。但由之後方的展和成就，了Meisner的才是不及Frey。Meisner之後不到3年，老合唱也跟著在1980解散，但又於1994重。Meisner到了重的消息後表示意，但吃了理的羹。2013，老合唱邀Meisner「History of the Eagles」的世界巡演唱，但此的Meisner健康不佳住了院，不得不予以婉拒。而且，由於酗酒及嗑，Meisner的情也很糟，，他次住院的，最後是由曾老的友他付的。
人生的程中多少都遇到重要的抉，而果的好，都已是法重。Randy Meisner「老」，也是想再自己事的峰 ( to the limit )，而刺的是，若他一直留在「老」，事才有一波又一波的峰吧！
