此首《Poor Poor Pitiful Me》美歌手兼曲作家Warren Zevon自自唱，收在他1976自己同名的中。而此曲的作人Jackson Browne，位Browne老兄之前和Glenn Frey、J.D. Souther等人混在一起，透的，然也Linda Ronstadt ( Glenn Frey曾Linda Ronstadt的伴奏之一，後老合唱；而J.D. Souther曾Ronstadt的男友。)，由Jackson Browne的介和教唱，Linda Ronstadt在次年翻唱此曲。
歌曲述的是不幸的情，而其是首自嘲可的趣味歌。像其中曾遇到如美知名男匪徒Jesse James的女人，然是有被「家暴」而得自己像是Waring牌的果汁/拌 ( Waring blender )。再又在彩虹酒吧遇到喜被鞭打玩SM的女子，他上旅 --- ，情好像有些不堪，他也不想再多。而歌曲一始是他躺置於上，知火已不再那，想自也不成，真是可不幸到家了。呵呵！Linda Ronstadt看到歌中於SM的那一段，得在法由她的口中唱出，除了全曲的性更，段也重新改。Linda Ronstadt的版本在1978的告示牌流行榜得到了第31名，也算是替此曲打了知名度。
加拿大村女歌手Terri Clark某日在健身房，到了Linda Ronstadt的版本，心想：是多酷的歌啊！而且一定可以成棒的村歌曲 ( 以上是Terri Clark事後「告示牌」所及的 )。Terri Clark之後始著手，在1996推出她的版本，果如所得加拿大村排行榜的冠及美村榜的第5名。
