Bonnie Tyler ( 原名Gaynor Hopkins )，1951出生於威斯的一工家庭。由於多兄弟姊妹各自音的品味，也她熟知到像是Elvis Presley、Frank Sinatra和The Beatles些歌星。後Hopkins校，因正式文，只能在一家店工作。

1969，Hopkins加地的一歌唱比，然只得到第2名，了她要去追求歌唱事的前程。之後的告，Hopkins找到了一份合音歌手的工作，再，成了自己的「Imagination」。此，了避免和歌手Mary Hopkins造成混淆，名字改成了Sherene Davis。

1975，Sherene Davis和她的在威斯南部的斯西 ( Swansea ) 的Townsman俱部演唱，受到星探Roger Bell的注意，邀她至敦唱。月後，Davis接到自RCA唱片公司的，提供她一份合，但被要求再度改名而成了Bonnie Tyler。

此首《It's A Heartache》即Bonnie Tyler在RCA的理人Ronnie Scott和Steve Wolfe所，曲於1977行，分得了英、美排行榜的第4名及第3名，唱片售量超了6百，也列名在年最佳售的曲之一。同年，美流行及村歌手Juice Newton也推出其版本，然在墨西哥成曲，了一「金唱片」，但在美的成86名。



Bonnie Tyler演唱首《It's A Heartache》，很不人想到英男歌手Rod Stewart，或是女版的Rod Stewart。事上，Bonnie Tyler具特色的沙嗓音，是 ( 俗 ) 刀後未保的果，料到因得福，有人Tyler此特殊的嗓音，在女生中直是「可比」。在此曲多的翻唱者中，Rod Stewart也缺席，其版本收在2006的《Still the Same…Great Rock Classics of Our Time》中。
