1963年，美肯塔基州Richomnd的高中生成了The Exiles，始是在地的俱部演唱，後也著明星作秀在地巡演出，作暖及配合歌手合音。1973，名短「Exile」。Exile字的名是「流放者」、「流亡者」等的意思。J.P. Prnnington，取此名，是因1959年卡斯楚取得政後，多古巴人搭船逃往美、墨西哥等家，而在新上常常看字。又，由於他蓄留著，感受到一些社的排斥，和些「流亡者」其也像的......。
此曲英的曲作家合Mike Chapman和Nicky Chinn所，主找上Exile唱行。1979，《Kiss You All Over》得告示牌榜的第1名，後然也有首歌曲入榜 ( # 40 / # 88 )，是Exile在榜唯一的一首冠曲。
或由於忽然的高名，此曲的主唱Jimmy Stokley於1979，迫使另新主唱，也因此始型村。1983至1990，Exile共有包含《Woke Up In Love》等十首村冠曲。原主唱Jimmy Stokley後，身健康每愈下，1985死於肝炎症，也有是毒品害了他，享年41。
