此曲美Journey於1981自《Escape》中另行的曲，除了在告示牌100排行榜得第8名，也是20世最初行的排名第一的付字下歌曲，迄2009，此曲的付下量突破了300次大。同是多部影及比中所使用的歌曲，然也成了Journey最著名的招牌歌。

Journey的手Jonathan Cain於1980才加入，在前述的作期，想出了此首歌的歌名和主，之前生活在洛杉的日落大道在音扎打拼，有想放打回家，他的父就戒他：「Don't stop believing or you're done, dude.」。另主唱Steve Perry及吉他手Neal Schon也分在歌及音部分此曲有所。

此曲的和一般的有些不同，通常歌曲有重多次的副歌，而此曲快到束才出歌名相同的真正副歌 ( 其一般人歌根本也不去管部分)，另在的地理上，也有歌中South Detroit 名和法，算是主唱Perry自的。

以下另菲律家庭合唱Missioned Souls的版本，位小朋友都已具有相的水，年最小的弟弟，敲鼓的奏感都甚佳。
