1971，美村男歌手Conway Twitty「工的女」Loretta Lynn合作出了一《We Only Make Believe》，其中此首《After the Fire is Gone》是唯一另行的曲，在「村榜」冠位置了2 ( 共入榜14 )，同也跨越至「流行榜」，得第56名。不如此，此曲更人得了一座「最佳村人/演唱」的葛美。

看歌名，的是「情消退之後」，而令人的是，非但未努力求改善，反而是去外面找暖，直白，就是以「外遇」填家中感情冰冷的空，知而欲中止，如毒般的以戒。在世界中，或真的存在多似的，否也不生如此多的共而成曲。

由於此曲的成功，至1981，Twitty和lynn共合作推出了10，成都相不。也此曲始，看人在台上演唱如情般的深情表，很不人想到人有「昧」。Loretta Lynn也知道外界是用的眼光在看他，直到1993 Conway Twitty世後，她公澄清，Twitty是她先生非常信任的家庭好友。
