此曲披合唱的士手Paul McCartney某日演唱完，在回家的路上忽得感而始思，後John Lennon在1962/09共同合作完成。原歌名《Seventeen》，歌始的一句「She was just 17, she'd never been a beauty queen,」，但John改成「She was just 17, you know what I mean.」佳，事後McCartney也：人更有感，即使你不懂我的意思。

1963，The Beatles在英行首《Please Please Me》，此首《I Saw Her Standing There》作的第一首曲目。年底，在美行曲，但是作另首《I Want Hold Your Hand》的B面，A面歌曲拿下了告示牌排行榜的冠，而此曲也在1964上了排行榜第14名。

McCartney原想歌曲的景是在英某渡假地的美比，歌改了後感是人聚集的跳舞合，一情後竟夜跳舞，是happy ending。

美女歌手Tiffany Darwish於1987翻唱此曲，年15，得告示牌排行榜的第8名，是所有女歌手翻唱披歌曲而成最佳的，然，歌名也改成了《I Saw Him Standing There》。
