美歌手兼曲作家Johnny Burnette於1934出生於美田西州的曼非斯(Memphis)，高中就Humes High School ( 「王」Elvis Presley同校，在校相遇也互打招呼。)，Burnette，曾加棒球、橄球校及拳活，曾得拳Golden Gloves的冠，一度也想成拳手，但在一次拳中遭遇手被打鼻後定退出拳界。

1952，Johnny Burnette哥哥Dorsey及共同的朋友Paul Burlison合了The Rock and Roll Trio，然也和唱片公司出了首曲，但成未理想，且了生活，只能不停的上路四演唱，而看似止的one-night stand ( 此名原意「只供一晚的表演」，後才引申「一夜情」)，於打垮了哥哥Dorsey在1956退，後又找了位士手替，但仍在1957解散。

The Rock and Roll Trio

Johnny Burnette眼看在Memphis啥展，定朋友Joe赴加州碰碰。joe了份「A Map to the Stars」，藉此找到了青少年偶像Ricky Nelson的住，了交所的歌，人定在Nelson家前的石上不走。此果然奏效，使得Nelson之印象深刻，之後也的唱了首Burnette的歌。

1958，Johnny Burnette得唱片公司的合，始了其唱事。1960，行了此首《Dreamin'》，在英曲排行榜得第5名及美告示牌排行榜的第11名，算是Johnny Burnette的成名曲。

1964，在加州的Clear Lake，由於Johnny Burnette的舟未照明，遭未察的Cabin cruiser ( 有房的艇 ) 撞，Burnette被溺，享年30。1973，披合唱的鼓手Ringo Starr翻唱Johnny Burnette的《You’re Sixteen》( 1960 )，不拿下告示牌榜的第1名，使得原版本得「Rockabilly 名人堂」的可，但些也只是身後的了。
