英Smokie最早成立於1963，一路跌跌撞撞，未有好成的表。一直到1971，人成台出身的Dave Eager，此主唱Chris Norman因遭到的病毒感染而影到了，等元後得沙 ( 道是上帝的物，他的音得特？)。之後了Decca唱片公司，也行了首曲，但最後是以失告。
在Decca期，人取到成Peter Noone ( 前大名鼎鼎的英Herman's Hermits的主唱 ) 伴唱的唱。後不唱，被要求成固定的班底，不久後也展了巡演唱。而Peter Noone未替位年人好，倒是遇到了位Bill Hurley老兄，自任的理人，服Dave Eager放Noone的合，另安排了其他的演唱。由於Bill Hurley的，被介知名的作曲人合Nicky Chinn和Mike Chapman。此首《If You Think You Know How To Love Me》即人所作，1975曲行後，在洲多家均入榜成曲，在英勇第3，且停留了9。此曲也算是Smokie的成名曲。
suzi quatro
依Hurley和Chinnichap ( 人的合名 ) 原本的，要Suzi Quatro穿皮衣 ( Chinnichap曾替Suzi Quatro歌及作 )，但四人著牛仔扮。此曲行，才又正式更名Smokey，但偏偏有位美歌手Smokey Robinson和他的名字造成混淆，言提告，免才又改Smokie。Smokie至今仍有活，但主唱Chris Norman早於1986。少了Chris Norman，感Smokie就整的不味了。
