老歌(508)I Shall Be Released

首《I Shall Be Released》是民歌王子Bob Dylan於1967所，由The Band於1968率先行，成他首《Music From Big Pink》中的歌曲。

The Band的前身，是1958─1963村歌手Ronnie Hawkins的名伴唱手所成。1964，Ronnie Hawkins後，以The Hawks名行了首曲始巡演唱。次年，受於Bob Dylan，任美 ( 1965 ) 及海外 ( 1966 ) 巡演唱的伴唱。

1966年7月，Bob Dylan於住家附近生摩托意外，他那台500cc的Triumph撞，人也受了。期，The Hawks的4位和Bob Dylan共同完成了近百首的歌曲，即所的《Basement Tape》，其中亦包含了此首《I Shall Be Released》。由於他老是被主要演唱歌手的---「the band」，在1968行首，就乾脆正式更名The Band。

多人都同意首歌是在描述中囚犯的悔罪，由歌「I see my light come shining, From the west onto the east.」( 由西向←人生反向的影回？)，感上位囚犯被死，但似乎又罪不及死，故有些人之是一首「反死刑」或取人自由的歌曲。其Bob Dylan在之前，包含巡演唱等他的力相大，首歌或也反他的心境，需要得的解。

此曲Bob Dylan除了在1967和The Band合的版本外 ( 1991才行 )，1971重行，然在曲和歌都做了些更。1976，The Band的告演唱---「The Last Waltz」，Bob Dylan其等合唱的版本，更是受到多人的喜。
