首《Seasons in the Sun / 光季》改自法文歌曲《Le Moribond / The Dying Man》，最早是由Kingston Tro ( 京士三重唱 )在1964推出，但未受目。之後，The Beach Boys ( 海少年 )也之曲，但因故定不行。此，的Terry Jacks ( 曾Susan Pesklevits共Poppy Family，其知名的代表作品《Which Way You Going Billy》 )，部份的歌改，於1973年底推出了他自己的版本，在次年3月一上了冠歌曲的座。
首歌的是一中年位男人知道自己不久人世前的告白。法文歌中有以花喻妻子，以”eyes closed”意於妻子的不。 ( 以下英歌 )：

但由Rod McKuen所的英文歌 ( Kingston Tro的版本 )，就直接指及原妻子的不，令人震憾。事上，知道或疑妻子曾出的男人恐怕也不少，忍吞的直到死前才出，也真是有悲哀。

然而，Terry Jacks推出的版本些歌都改掉了，改成一青少年面死亡前於生命的眷，有那正面光明性的意。
作首歌的比利籍曲作家Jacques Brel，是以揣摩正值盛年因病垂死之人的心情下了首歌。然而他自己也在正值盛年的1974被罹癌，1978於不病魔世，享年49。然不能是一成，也巧合的令人不禁要：啊！怎是！？
