1920年出生的艾力侯(Eric Rohmer)，是法影新浪潮中最老最晚得注目的影作者。和新浪潮其他四位大演一，他出身自影的影人身份，1957年他夏布洛合了心目中巨人希考克的作品述，1958年他接下巴留下的影之，六年之久，段也正是新浪潮起的史刻。但在刻，他作的《子的印》(Le Signe du lion)奈地受漠，和年少得意的楚浮、高，境遇大不相同。直到1963年他卸下重，新浪潮也平息之後，改自他小集「六道德故事」的作品面世（62年《珊的情事》到72年的《午后之》），才他上名的地位。
曾在校交文程，本身也小的侯，一直文影像合的自然恣意，他的作品充了文哲的味，透故事中男男女女的口，大篇幅地述著他也不、於情道德的永人生智慧。些看似不起眼的男女，也因而能有足的人文素，有教人不的深度。侯的影另一大特色，就是的人物心理描，即使是略扁平的典型角色，也能得可而且充魅力。
