　　有一天，克吐出，碰到一朋友。那朋友走到克吐面前，他：「我把都光了，票回家。你我一票，我回家，好不好？」克吐：「我也差不多光了。不我有法：你上了，躲到我的座位下面，我用腿遮住你就行了。」那朋友法，只好答了。

　　克吐走到售票，了票。快要的候，那朋友就到座位底下躲起。了一，查票查票，克吐了他票。查票看他只有一人，就他：「有另一位先生呢？」克吐大的：「喔！那是我的一位朋友的票。他是一有怪脾的人，坐的候喜躲在座位底下。」

克吐（Mark Twain，1835年11月30日1910年4月21日）原名塞姆朗赫恩克列斯（Samuel Langhorne Clemens）。他是美的幽默大、小家、作家，同也是演家，被“美文中的林肯”。

        克吐有候喜揶揄他的母，有一次他寄了一封仔密封好的信他母，信封上且明著：「私人的、密的」。

他的母收到信後，甚至拒有人在打封信，於是她很地回到自己的房，分後她走下，眼神中露出分慨的情，原克吐的封信是用中文的。

  Mark Twain delighted in teasing his mother.  He once sent her a letter carefully sealed and marked "Personal and Confidential." 

  Mrs. Clemens refused even to open the letter when anyone was around, so she retired to her room very much excited.  She came down a few minutes later, her eyes burning with indignation.  The letter was in Chinese.

【多妻制】

        有一次克吐一位摩教教徒有「多妻制」主，克吐受到挑，他被要求出中曾有任何的一段文字是指多妻制。克吐引述：『有人能服侍位主人。』

        Mark Twain got into an argument with a Mormon on the subject of polygamy, and was challenged to cite a single passage of Scripture condemning polygamy.  "No man can serve two masters," quoted Mark Twain.

美天空上的一彗星在克吐的故吐

在以前的文章中，我曾到在美文史上有璀璨的明星，他分是克吐和坡。最近我得到克吐的故美的心密里州旅行，途中重了一遍吐的代表作品，在哀痛的日子里，我一起美史上的那段，向上的金代，再一次欣在曾豪的民族里生的文巨人。

克．吐生于1835年11月30日，在密里州北上的一小村佛里。他生下，身非常弱，家里人都心他不了第一冬天。吐4，全家搬到密西西比河的小尼拔（Hannibal）。吐的父一生都非常倒霉，地未收益，店又本，“逼得他的子女期生活而在世上扎”。吐12父去世，他此，到流浪，做送人、排字工人、徒工、密西西比河上的水手、舵手等等。少年代的和流浪的生活是吐而悲的文。

吐小不上，常逃到附近的密西西比河游玩，在河地察著大河的一切神秘的、浮的木筏和湍急的河水……他前後共有9次差沉入河底，被波浪卷走。我少喜的小《姆．索》和《哈克里．恩》的村背景就是尼拔，“沐浴在夏日清晨光下安的小”。今天在吐的出生地有州立公和他建立的出生地念，以及以他命名的湖泊。

回吐的少年事，不禁想起我小的那的河流。我也是逃在河呆出神啊。我想象著搭乘光隧道火，吐一道在河皮耍，他一起攀爬周的小山，探神秘的洞穴，在水潭里嬉；我一起乘坐木筏沿密西西比河漂流，找自由之州……

吐一生中共作了23部作品，是世界上得稿酬最多的一位作家。甚至在他死後，影制片、播台、台他的著作版付稿酬。克．吐世界文的之一是他非凡的幽默刺。今天我重新品味吐刺小中的言，不禁感今世界幽默之衰退，大和媒里到塞了言垃圾，除了互中指，再也想不出更高明的言，其粗俗鄙陋每愈下令人心。

精神物看真是一冤家。天才在世俗的生活里常常是低能。克  吐言天才在商界是一十足的“笨蛋”。他一生中的乎所有商活都遭到。在他50的候，了不出版商“削”他，他定自己出版社。可是，克．吐有任何管理出版公司的，就起的知都不懂。他款了20部印刷，建立了7家所，雇用了1多名推，莽撞地大干了起。然初期有短的成功，但上就面了危。出版公司勉持了10年，最後在1894年的危中底倒。克．吐此背上9.4美元的，他的人竟有96之多。

此同，他了一部根本用的蒸汽的利。以後又把更多的花在制印刷方面，但制造出的印刷，只能印刷“克．吐”字，光一就花了他三美元！然而真正的好投送上的候，他最能信口河的人笑人想天。一天，他到了阿山大．，他加投研制。克．吐以神失常了，人怎能通呢？他有投，但按的要求了他援助。

商失意，情得意。在情上，吐可是一帆。他在婚姻的明媚光中幸福地生活了34年。在1868年，他了莉薇 （Olivia Langdon）。吐的求婚把凸了吐的皮。了能在莉薇家里呆些，他串通了莉薇的夫搞了小把要送他回家的座弄松，使一走，他就同座一起摔下。安排好後，他就收拾行李，假同主人握手告，然後跳上，手再。果然，正如他所的那，走步，座就掉了下，克．吐被摔昏。其他根本有受什，童年，他就常摔倒。但是他因此在情人的家里了星期的，便也求了婚。

吐莉薇後定居康州的哈特福德（Hartford）20年，是他最多的作峰期。莉薇成吐最得力的助手和者。她助吐修改草稿，她的修改，克  吐未提出。吐在回段美好的婚姻假如一切能始，那我在呀呀的期就婚，而不把荒在磨牙和打碎瓶瓶罐罐上。

到了70的候，吐感到自己安度晚年了。他自己定做了14套白色衣服和100白色，他到，全身素裹，此直至逝世。自己入式的古怪念也只有吐老小孩想得出。吐生那一年，哈雷慧星空，星于1910年返回。吐言他慧星而去。果然4月19日，慧星在天，4天之後，吐果真之了人。

我多希望那空倒的冥界真存在，我到少年吐，希望姆  索、哈克里  恩手一起漫游世界，地在明朗的光下笑。
