DevOps Systems Engineer
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify & develop scripts and tools needed using various languages (Python, Java, shell, etc) for automating manual tasks.
Supporting eBay cloud environment. (VMware, OpenStack, KVM, Storage, Network, Image and etc.)
Installation, Management, and administration of various flavors of UNIX including Red Hat & Ubuntu Linux, Solaris 10
Performance tuning, configuring & upgrading Operating Systems and Patches
Do proactive monitoring on the health of Unix and Compute Infrastructure and implement tools to report out system parameters.
Work in emergency situations related to downtimes, Application and system upgrades and critical incidents and 24x7 availability over phone and in person.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent.
Strong systems administration skills with Unix like Operating System.
Expert understanding of system internals, networking and large scale distributed systems.
Excellent English and communication skills
Experience with Web development (Python/Java/Jscript) is a plus.
