Job Title: Distributed Storage Engineer

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Distributed Storage Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing distributed storage systems to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our data operations. Experience with Ceph and GlusterFS is considered a significant plus.


Responsibilities and Duties:
Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure distributed storage systems.
Monitor and optimize system performance, undertaking modifications as necessary.
Guarantee the efficient operation and high availability of the distributed storage systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve any system issues as they arise, ensuring minimal disruption to operational activities.
Provide technical guidance and support to other team members on distributed storage technologies.
Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless integration of storage systems with other infrastructural components.
Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in distributed storage.
Create and maintain system documentation, including design documents, operational manuals, and troubleshooting guides.


Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in working with distributed storage systems.
Strong understanding of data storage principles and distributed systems.
Proficiency with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, Java, or Go.
Experience with distributed storage technologies like Ceph and GlusterFS is a big plus.
Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL database systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical team members.


Education Required:
BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
